- SPECIAL MOVES -

Hold A and B (attack and block) to use magic.  The more MP you have the more damage you'll do.  This is useful for getting out of a tricky fight or doing a chunk of damage during a boss fight.

Block just as an enemy attacks to parry.  Then follow up with an attack to deal extra damage!

You can dodge incoming attacks by double tapping left or right.  Useful for dodging certain projectiles which can't be blocked.

Attack just after a dodge to do a dash attack.  This is handy for closing distance when an opporunity to strike arises!

- ABOUT -

Blight Knight is a NES-style game submitted to NES Jam 2026.  Inspired by Castlevania, Battletoads and Golden Axe.

When you beat the final boss (Evil Bone-Whip, Master of the Curse) you'll unlock 'Blight Mode', where you'll have less max HP, enemies will more HP and are much more aggressive.

Thanks for playing, Brave Knight!

Love this

Incredible game. Loved the overall presentation and the enemy variety was solid.

Also loved how you mixed up the enemies for all the encounters. Kept the combat fresh in general

My only complaint is that it was kinda hard to tell what the hitbox for my attack actually was. Not sure if it was in front of the player or if it was diagonal to the player. Also it was hard to tell if you were too far or close enough to be able to get some powerups. As I result I had to leave them since I ended up being too far ( Probably an issue with depth perception in this case I suppose )

Still, incredible game all things considered. Will definitely come back and try blight mode

This is kinda interesting perspective !

Guess we need more refreshing way to render fake 3D navigation.

Amazing game!

I think this is a great contender for winning this Jam! The movement reminds me a lot of the hallway levels in the NES Contra games, I think this is a really unique gameplay experience which if this were expanded into a larger game, I would definitely buy.
