A game by NPJarcade, written in two weeks for NES Jam 2025.

- CONTROLS -

KEYBOARD:

[WASD] or [ARROWS] : move around

[G] : use sword, use items, pick up/throw princess, enter shop etc. 

[H] : jump, buy items, select quests

[ENTER] : pause the game

[SPACE] : select, toggle items

CONTROLLER:

[D-PAD] : move around

[A] : jump, buy items, select quests

[X] : use sword, use items, pick up/throw princess, enter shop etc. 

[START] : pause the game

[SELECT] : select, toggle items

(XBOX controller tested during development)

- INFO -

SLAY the monsters, SAVE the princess!  

- Princess Betty keeps going missing and it's up to you to save her

- Check the notice board to grab a quest, then head off on your trusty steed

- Navigate the level, find the princess and get outta there! 

- Don't take too long or angry monsters will appear to capture the princess

- Return the princess safely to earn coins which you can spend at the shop

This game is a submission to NES Jam 2025, inspired by some of the first video games I ever played such as Super Mario Bros 3 and Castlevania on the NES. 

There are only two levels for now, but I'd love to add more in future.
